The Season for Family

Well the Christmas Holiday was a joyful one! Spent with family, friends with good food and fun games! We had a blast making our goodies (cookies and cakes & our traditional gingerbread house...I highly recommend this as a yearly tradition for anyone!). The weather has been cooperative for the hustle and bustle but I admit that I am looking forward to more snow! I am looking forward to the New Year and hope everyone has a safe celebration!

Fighting the Flu!

Well...I knew it was basically inevitable and I am glad we are through it. Eli got very sick and after 3 visits to the doctor he was finally tested...positive for Type A flu. Finally the Tamiflu that he needed to get better was prescribed. He's missed 5 days at school and has a stack of homework. Luckily no one else is sick! Let's see how long that lasts...but at least I know what to expect and I don't believe I will panic the second time around. Oh No!! Is that a sniffle I hear from Ava?

Summer

It's been a long hot summer. Eli has been a wonder with his broken arm. This is the first adversity that he has had to face in his short seven years! What a trooper! Although his summer thus far has been filled with the memories of an early Summer vacation to San Diego sans broken arm...movies...reading and puzzles, he will soon be able to swim like a guppy! He had the pins removed from his arm (not exactly what I expected) last week and is now in a softer wrist cast that is no longer down to the elbow. Ava has been a little less of a kamakazi since the injury for which I am greatful...in all honesty I thought she would be the first to break her arm. With July almost to a close we are preparing for an extended weekend camping trip which we are all looking forward to! I am preparing my Etsy shop for opening and trying to tie all of my interests (Ebay, Facebook and Blogger) into one circle of love! Till next time!

Saturday's Past

After a very long week I am finally able to catch up with many things including this blog. My darling Eli broke his arm last week and required emergency surgery to repair the radius and ulna. Such a trying time for all of us! Everyone at the hospital was so wonderfully nice and caring! Eli was such a good patient! My poor little bird with his broken wing!

My heart goes out to all of the families of the very sick children we saw at the Children's Hospital. The three days I spent there seemed an eternity...those moms are the bravest women.

Firsts

Wow! My first official BLOG! What to say? I started this for various reasons, having read so many different blogs I just knew I needed to be part of the "Blogger" community not only to share my joys (my family, my children) and my interests but also to help and be a supportive force for those in need. So many people with so many things to say. I am truly excited! Wish me luck! Dianne
